Requesting confirmation in writing applies not only to the first step of the workers’ compensation process when you report the injury but continues on to when you are treating with the doctors. You will encounter times when you are evaluated by an authorized doctor and they tell you the treatment they recommend or you require and then crickets as far as follow through from the insurance carrier and actual authorization of the care.
Request the treatment recommendations in writing, ask for the prescription in the office at the time of care, follow up on the recommendations because the insurance carrier is certainly not going to for you.
